The conversation I just overheard between Dave and Hailey. Dave telling Tyler a story about a bad guy he caught at work and Hailey walks over to look at a picture (http://www.q13fox.com/community/wamostwanted/featuredcases/kcpq-wmw-kirkland-retirement-burglar-20120928,0,4793868.story) and says, "but he doesn't even look like he takes drugs". That goes down in the book of things I never thought I'd hear my five year old say.
Can't believe I haven't blogged in so long. Things have been so busy but I have every intention of getting caught up and back on the blogging wagon again soon!

What broken arm?
I feel for Hailey every time I look at her and see her cast. That hard rigid uncomfortable thing. It makes my arm uncomfortable just looking at it. And it makes me want to stretch and straighten my arm out....since she hasn't been able to for weeks now. That is how I am handling it. Hailey on the other hand is handling it like a champ. Not a complaint. Goes about her business as if there is no broken arm. Does everything left handed like it's not big deal. She has such strength and determination. So in case you been wondering if this "tiny" little cast has been holding her back.....no worries. She's still as funny and spunky as ever. Her doctor did tell us "no soccer" even for practice which is a bummer. She misses soccer and to be honest, she'd probably be safer at soccer than the shenanigans she does here at the house.
The best broken arm attitude ever, in pictures. I mean, what broken arm?

Ocean Shores
We try to make it Ocean Shores and more specifically Surfcrest at least once a year for a few days. Just like everything else this year, this trip was even more freeing. The kids had such fun in that freezing cold water....getting their clothes soaked and not caring a bit. Tyler especially like that there was a basketball hoop just steps away from our front door. Even better he was allowed to go our and play anytime he wanted even if Dave and I weren't there (but the front door was open). HE thought that was the greatest.

yes, sand still stick to wet skin :)
On Sunday and Monday we woke up to sunny skies and a warm days. We lucked out. We spent a lot time down by the water. The kids dug in the sand a bit and build a sand castle but most of their time was spent jumping the waves. This never got old.
this sand was soo hot but it felt great!
no shovels required
We once again had a great Ocean Shores trip and it was a nice way to end our trips for the summer.
